Mission Statement

“To provide an environment where contemporary and abstract artists can display their work without the usual constraints of conventional galleries”

The Renegade Artists Group is located in Estes Park, Colorado near Rocky Mountain National Park .

Humble beginnings:

In the fall of 2004, a group of artist assembled and decided to form the Renegade Artists Group and to rent a gallery based on our mission for one month. That show ran from May 1 thru May 31 st at our rented gallery on Cleave Street . The building we were in was built in 1909. The street itself - a funky little back street. We were underneath the umbrella of the Cultural Arts Council of Estes Park . We listed as a gallery for the 15 th annual Art Walk Weekend in Estes Park in the 34 th Anniversary May 2005 Issue of SouthwestArt magazine. On our opening day 100 people walked through the doors of our little back street gallery. Because of the exhibit we filed articles of incorporation as a non profit with the state of Colorado on June 1, 2005 ! We continued our mission by moving into another gallery at the Court Yard, on Virginia Drive in Estes for the summer and fall of 2005. We continue to bring our artists' work to the community. Their work is exhibited with businesses, libraries and conference centers in our area.  We have received fan mail and a great deal of support for our mission. We are here for the contemporary and abstract artist.  – RAG
